Media Relations & Publicity

Whether you are looking to improve your organisation's profile, promote a product, or become an expert commentator, our experienced team can help get you into the news.

Media and Communication Consulting

Many of Cole Lawson's consultants are qualified journalists with years of experience. We excel at identifying story angles that will interest the media, while also helping our clients get their messages out.

Managing Director Margaret Lawson and Senior Consultant Sue Monk have worked as journalists in Australia and internationally. This experience provides clients with a more efficient offering when developing angles and material for journalists, resulting in an excellent strike-rate for media coverage.

Account managers Bo Daly and Rhiannon Smith have developed excellent professional relationships with journalists in all media outlets, and are often sought to provide stories and spokespeople.

Senior Consultant Sue Monk has led large scale media campaigns across multiple channels for government agencies, large corporate organisations and entrepreneurial ventures.

Cole Lawson can provide expert media training to help prepare your spokespeople for media interviews and we also develop internal procedures and guidelines to help you manage and optimise your media interactions.

In a crisis situation that sees you in the media for the wrong reasons, Cole Lawson will help you reclaim control of the situation and achieve the best possible outcome.

We offer:

  • Media insights, strategies and plans
  • Media release writing and distribution
  • Media enquiry handling and response
  • Media relationship building
  • Media training
  • Publicity-driven research
  • Social media crisis response plans.

Communication Strategy, Media, Social Media & Marketing

Ad hoc activities don’t make the most of your public and media relations investment.

To ensure you achieve your communication and marketing objectives, an integrated and well thought out strategy is required. Your public relations and marketing communications strategy shouldn’t be developed in isolation, but instead firmly linked to your business goals and corporate vision.

Ideally, your public relations, social media and marketing communications strategy will reach across the entire organisation and encompass every interaction you have with your stakeholders – both internal and external. Through this ‘filter’, your brand will be more fully developed and better aligned with your values. This results in real benefits and directly impacts your bottom line.
